Paint Anyone?

Our Dates...they were great sports
The girls/roommates/friends forever!

This was my date, Warren Hallmark

Mar and I after the paint was gone.
One day I decided that I was sick and tired of waiting for a boy to ask me on a date, so I decided that our apartment should have a roommate date. I set a date and said "Alright anyone who wants to come, get a date by this friday." Five out of ten roommates ended up with dates!!! YAY!!! it was awesome. We decided to have a paint fight and Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwhichs after wards.
Oh I almost forgot, I also pondered about dating and how people make a BIG deal about dates when in reality IT DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING!!! it doesn't mean you are "going out" or they are your "boyfriend/girlfriend" it just means that you are having fun and you are doing what the prophet asked you to do. Date people so you know what you want in a future husband. That was the point of this date was to just have fun and not worry about making the date a big deal. It worked out great. However, all the girls took about a 45 minute shower to get all the paint off, but I think it was well worth it!

PrAnKs

This is my friend Chris Miller's car. My brilliant roommate Marleen came up with an idea. She thought if would be funny if we put his car up for sale. It was awesome! we put fliers all over campus. We put this 2006 mazda 3 car up for sale for $600. We were smart and put Chris' and Jourdan's (his roommate) numbers on the flier. They figured it was us and told us that over 100 people called! Funny? oh yeah!

This was a more mild prank. This lovely soft, cushy pink pillow is Warren's cuddle pillow. Mar and I took it for a night, we took pictures with it, put them on facebook and tagged Warren as the pillow! Again, another awesome prank!

Luckily all these guys are great guys and can take a joke. Oh and they are all roommates, which makes these pranks even better!

Adventures up Ephraim Canyon

Some girls and me in the back of Tucker's truck, it was a bumpy ride!
This is Kyle Ivins, pretty much the coolest guy.

This is Tucker Smith, he caught this on his first cast. He was the only one who caught a fish out of the five of us. He was also generous enough to drive up the Canyon so we could enjoy this experience!

GiRls NiGhT!

We had chicken fights for girls night one week. It was a blast!
Roommates McCall and Lisa in chicken form

Everyone who participated in the chicken battle.
Every week our apartment has a girls night. We try and do creative things besides talking. This week was the funniest of them all...so far. Who knows what future weeks will hold for us!

1984

1984 is a book I read in two days time.
Was I required to read it? yes. Did I enjoy reading it? NO!! This is by far the worse book I've ever read in my life! I have a quiz on Monday and I choose to read the book this weekend. With 50 pages left in the book I wanted to THROW it at my wall. With in 20 pages of finishing I wanted to BURN the book. It was driving me crazy. I would never recommend this book if my life depended on it. However, I do think it would make a good movie, but as far as the book goes I'm never reading it cover to cover ever again.

Week one and two of Sugar Diet

Alright, the first week off sugar was a piece of cake(not literally). I didn't crave it as bad as I suspected and I did exceptionally well. However, this is the beginning of a new week and I already CRACKED! My roommate McCall made HOMEMADE Oreo cookies and she begged me to try one because she made them for me to try(forgetting that I was off sugar). I hesitated and finally said "OK" Thinking I was only going to eat ONE. One thing happened after another and I ended up eating TWO cookies and Three brownies(Brownies were made for FHE). AAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!! I couldn't believe it. I thought I had more self control than that. Once I tasted the chocolate goodness I indulged myself in it's flavor. Also yesterday I had another brownies (I justified it) and had some delicious muddy buddies.
HOWEVER, in my defense I had my hip hop class, a softball game and I biked for twenty minutes that night to work off the sugar I had eaten the past couple of days. I burned 311 calories in twenty minutes (I know love biking!).
There is my quick update on my sugar diet. Basically I have to start over.

No Sugar for the Semester

Most people call me "Crazy" when I tell them I don't eat sugar. They also say "I need sugar, I would last.......three maybe five hours with out sugar" My favorite is "Well fruit has sugar in it" well no duh, everything has sugar in it whether it be NATURAL (in fruit and vegetables) or REFINED(sweet such as brownies and ice-cream etc...)sugar. I'm here to tell you that I decided to go off REFINED sugar. I did it last semester with one of my roommates and I felt great until I made a horrible decision to break my "Sugar diet" and have some chocolate, candy and ice-cream during the summer time.
I know it's going to be hard, but I know I can do it and I know that it will help with my health in the future. I read an article that women should eat about 100 calories or 6 teaspoons of sugar per day and men should have around 150 calories or 9 teaspoon of sugar a day. These include manufacture sugars. Of course every body functions different and I know that my body would gladly appreciate it if i only ate 100 or less calories of sugar a day.
I thought I would let everyone know that I'M OFF SUGAR so PLEASE don't offer me anything. I know as a Garlock it's a crime against the family name, but I frankly don't care. I would rather be healthy and take sweets out of my food guide pyramid than keep sweets in my pyramid and be sick from it. I will let you know how my journey goes through out the school year. If anyone would like to join me, great! if not wish me luck!

Back TO ScHoOl

Snow College had officially started and I already have homework! YAY!! not really. I guess that is what you can expect as a college student! ha ha
My roommates are awesome! I have nine other roommates and we all get along.....so far. It will be different from last year, but I'm excited to see what the outcome of this semester is going to bring.
Now EVERYONE knows that Lisa Garlock(me) is back at School at Snow College. Now when I talk to you, you won't be surprised at that fact. You should also know that this will be my last semester(if I pass all my classes) and I will graduate with my Associates of Science! Hooray!!
After two in a half years I finally graduate with my generals and I'll be done!
There is the school up date for me. Nothing too exciting has happened at school yet, but I'll try and blog about more adventures this year so you all can enjoy my excitement with me!

RaNdOm

I was scanning through my pictures to see what I could blog about next and I didn't find any new pictures. I eventually came across this picture and I chuckled. This picture is probably at least 10 years old and I look absolutely nasty! ha ha
I think it's so funny to look back on pictures and seeing what I dressed like, how I did my hair etc.... I thought I looked good! It's amazing at what a transformation I've made through out the years, I just hope I look good now so when I look back on my college pictures I will be glad I looked the way I did! ha ha

New Mexico

This is what it looked like after ten minutes of thunder storms. Pretty swampy huh? and you wonder why I didn't get a very good picture of the stand.
This is the firework stand I worked at
I know it's a bad picture, but it was raining and the water was already up to my ankles

Kuma (the dog) loved to sleep and cuddle up to EVERYONE'S lap. I guess this was suitable due to the position I was in.

Now that is BrAvErY

As i was checking my yahoo account, this picture caught my eye..... My first thought was "WHAT?! Are thoses heart boxers!" than i thought I HAVE to read this article. Turns out that the soldier who is in his pink boxers (his boxers said "I love NY")and a red T-shirt rushed out of bed to help his soldiers who being attacked by Tailban soldiers. The soldiers were on duty for 24 hours and it was HIS turn to sleep. The soldier was afraid he was going to lose his job, but he has been reassured that his job will be safe. His dedication was recogized by his troops and his country.
I thought he has to be one of the best soldiers, i mean he is completely visible to get shot at with his red shirt and he is in no condition to out run anyone in flip flops. If only we could serve other people like this soldier. What a great Christlike attribute that he posses and how i need to pay it forward to others as well. We are on this earth to preach the gospel and serve others! I was extremely happy when i read what this soldier did! Go United States of America! I salute this man!
