HiCkOrY KiSt!!

You may have heard of or seen this place in the Utah county area. Well i'll tell you abou it. Hickory Kist is the place I work!! Hickory Kist is a deli located in Spanish Fork. This is the best place to eat, socialize, and work for. I work with my good friend Marleen(pretty much told her bosses that i'm amazing! and gave me a great word), everything is homebaked (everyone prefers homebaked meals) and it's a great enviornment. It's not a high stress job which makes it delightful to work.
Me and Marleen at Snow College and enjoying some delicious cupcakes. They were so good we had to eat them in ONE bit! She is also the lovely girl who got me a job!
All summer I have been job hunting, I sent out at least 15 applications this summer and I only got three call backs(one of those was hickory kist). It took me all summer to find a job. At times I just wanted to give up and say bag it i'll wait until school starts, but I knew that if i kept applying and kept my eyes opened I would find something. What i have to say now is.....I'M SO GLAD I WAS PERSISTANT!!! You could say it was a testimony builder for me. Not only did it teach me never to give up, but also to keep a positive attitude and be myself through the whole thing.

Nathan and Christina Pehrson at the Collosseum in Rome!
You can't get lost in Pisa!
Nathan, Lisa and Christina infront sculptures of famous people. Forgive me I forgot their names.
Lisa, Christina, Nathan and Kyle touring the collesseum. It was beautiful. We could see where they hid the animals and the gladiators!
Nathan and Lisa infront of the most beautiful church I have ever come acrossed! It was light blue and pink, gothic style.
Christina and Lisa with a mother lion representing nurture in the world! GRRRR....
This is Nathan, he was having a bad day. He wanted to play frisbee and as soon as we found the perfect grass spot we spot this sign. It's a little faded but it says "no frisbee or ball games." It was hilarious but sad at the same time.
Kyle, Christina Pehrson and Lisa eating infront of the leaning tower of pisa

Lisa and Christina jumping infront of the famous statue micheal! He's a hunk!

Reinactment by Christina and Nathan Pehrson.
Christina and Lisa overview the city of Florence, Italy
Lisa anD Christina and Pisa! The grass was incrediably green. We looked photoshopped but I promise it's real.
I'm usually against being cliche, but this was a must. Eating Pizza at Pisa! Sometimes you just have to give in to your stubborness haha
Christina and Kyle Pehrson at our first Italian restaurant in florence. It was delicious. I ordered a dish that consumed spinach, chees melted and cooked in peta bread! once again! DELICIOUS! :)

Abroad Brings new Adventures

Waiting for our train to take us to Lviv! Yes that is me on the far right. I wanted to dress up and fool my teachers!
Above is our weekly soccer game. This was the dirtest game we played. Dust and bugs were everywhere. We had to keep running around so none of the bugs could bit us. The bug bites would swell up, yeah not good.
This was taken infront of the Opera house after watching Rigaletto! The opera was amazing!
This is at a water museum, they found a toilet big enough for big foot
This is our first castle we visited in ukraine. We were in Cominyats
This is our family picture!
Yes we did have to dress this much to stay warm, some days we had more layers on!
This is the lovely Kiev, Ukraine Temple! The best most beautiful temple in the world!
Our first full day in Kiev. Oksana our Native coordinator took us to a ukrainian restaurant. Our first meal!
McFoxy!!! DELICIOUS!! yummy foxy rolls. I would love to apply and become a foxy lady!
For Nathan's birthday we went bowling under black lights!
Oksana at the Love lock bridge. This is wear couples come and seal their love forever. Each couple has two locks. They lock them together and throw the keys in the river. It's very romantic.
Riding the metro!
They got stuck in an elevator for 45 mintues! I was strong enough to pull the doors open!
I went through a phrase in ukraine. I blame the unpurified water
Oksana and Christina- Native coordinator and head teacher
Give you an idea of what the buildings look like
St. Sophia. A woman made this and was kind enough to donate it to the St. Sophia museum

It's good to be home

Ukraine was a great experience and I'm so glad that i went. I learn a lot of things that i will be able to use in my life.
Ukraine will always be apart of my life and i'm so grateful for that.
However, it's good to be home and see my family. My family is awesome. I was welcomed with a big sign with all my favorite american things on it, balloons and big hugs!
I will miss ukraine, but it's good to be home!

Dreams DO come true!!!

I'm going to cry!!!!! All of you know that I'm leaving to go to Ukraine on the 14th of January to teach English for four months. No, it's not a mission it's a service abroad program!!!
Well I was a little worried about my financial situation. I didn't know if I would have enough money to spend on traveling when I got over there. ILP recommends $1,000 and with a part time job in which I worked four times than got layed off I didn't think it was possible to raise that much money in a month.
I gave it my best effort by putting up fliers in my ward to do cleaning and babysitting. I just sat down and counted my money and OH MY GOODNESS!! I did it!
I feel so extremely blessed right now I can't express it more than that! I was having doubts because I didn't feel like I was performing my absolute best in advertising, I felt slothful and unproductive and with the little things I have to gather for Ukraine i really felt useless. I was cleaning a lady's house once maybe twice a week and I babysat for my neighbor. I didn't think I would reach my goal with just two or three people but I DID! I'm so grateful for my father in heaven and I'm SO grateful for my family's prayers. I never noticed how much people are praying for me until reality hits me straight in the FACE!! haha
I now feel more prepared and less worried to fly across the world and do what I've been looking forward to this whole semester! It really does make a different when you take it one step at a time even though it may seem more stressful and it will test your patience, but at least you know you did everything and you won't need to worried about it!
Heavenly Father really will meet you half way. I didn't doubt it before but now I can truly testify that if you try and make a conscious product effort he will come through for you!!
I love this gospel and I love my life!!!!!
Thanks friends and family for all the support and the prayers you have brought into my life!
